Hello Everyone! Welcome to the Long and Short Review Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge, where bloggers write on a common theme every Wednesday. This is my second year participating. Today’s topic is something lucky that’s happened to me.
While in college, I had a class in British History that was a snooze fest. The teacher droned on and on and the assigned readings were just as bad. And I loved history. 🙁 One day, about mid way into the semester, I just couldn’t take it anymore and rather than heading to that class, I went to the dorm to get some homework done. On route, I bumped into my crush at the time, who was walking to his next class. It was the only time I ever bumped into him. So boring class plus crush meant that from that time onward, I skipped the History class.
So here i am around finals time, no class notes, barely any readings, so I went to the Library, reviewed old exams, and discovered that periodically he would give one big question rather than many smaller questions, for the essay. I studied only for that question. Since this post is about luck, you know that I lucked out and the exam was that question.
I suppose there are two questions about whether or not this is really luck I have to address. First, since I was prepared for the big mega question, would I have been able to handle others. Looking back, probably. But I didn’t feel confident at the time, and I was betting on luck. So it felt lucky. Second, did I get the guy? No. 🙁 So maybe not.

What a neat story! None of my professors ever kept old exams at the library so far as I knew. It sure would have been helpful to know what to expect if they had.
Sounds like you definitely made the right call, even if you didn’t get the guy!
