Hello Everyone! Welcome to the Long and Short Review Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge, where bloggers write on a common theme every Wednesday. This is my second year participating. Today’s topic is to show our bookshelf.
It varies. I love books, but I don’t keep them. I give them back. So others can also have them.
That means I try to get my books from the library or used books stores. Most of the books I get from used book stores, I then trade or give back. If I have buy new, I tend buy on the kindle.
But that does not mean my book shelves are empty. I always have a copy of Lord of the Rings and a shelf full of writing books.
For right now, I have an entire shelf of the book Heidi by Johanna Spyri in different languages. My daughter’s name is Heidi and every year on her birthday until she turned 18, I always gave her a copy of Heidi in a new language. I involved friends and family members in the ritual. Anyone who got on a plane, got asked to bring me a copy of the book. I inserted an index card in each book with the name of the person who bought the book. When my daughter has a home of her own, those books will go with her. For now, there are on my shelf.
