Will I Make It? #Bloghop

Hello Everyone! Welcome to the Long and Short Review Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge, where bloggers write on a common theme every Wednesday. This is my second year participating. Today’s topic is what’s next on my TBR list.

I think I’m committed.

I started J.D. Robb’s In death series about a month ago. I’ll read the first, I told myself. After the first, I said I’d finish the first three, then I’ll stop. I’m on number eight with the ninth book sitting on my bookshelf. I did a used book store run after the library stopped having available editions. So number 9 is on my bookshelf which is Loyalty in Death, and another used book store in my future until about the 15th book, when copies are available again in the library. Will I make it to the end? There are over 50 books in the series, and I don’t know if she has finished it. It started in the 1990s. I don’t know, truthfully.

What I like about it. Its three genres together that I enjoy – mystery, romance and spec. Its set in the near future – the 2050s, has an interesting set of characters you grow with, and while it centers on one couple who you also see grow and I can see her mixing other couples in around the growing set of regular characters. Why won’t I make it – the mysteries aren’t particularly difficult to guess for the most part, and I’ve never been a follow one couple sort of romance reader. Even if she throws other romances in, they will not be the main story. So we’ll see. I’m happy for now, and now my next set of books. I’ll go from there.
