Hello Everyone! Welcome to the Long and Short Review Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge, where bloggers write on a common theme every Wednesday. This is my second year participating. Today’s topic is to describe a perfect weekend getaway.
The simple answer is as long as there’s water, it’s perfect.
Water provides infinite variation. Venice would be my first choice because it always works for me. Walking along or having a meal by the canal, taking a water taxi to get to other parts, the entire city by the water. I find water soul-enriching, and Venice isn’t Venice without water.
Venice is not very practical for a weekend, so a cabin by a lake or river would do very well, as long as there was a balcony or approach where I could sit outside, have a glass of wine, a cup of coffee and my meals and just sit, and watch the water.
A place by the beach would be my last choice. While the ocean is glorious, majestic and powerful, bathing suits are my least favorite pieces of clothing. 🙂

Great answer. I love the ocean and other bodies of water, too.
I would love to visit Venice one day… it’s nice to dream about. re: water… I’m an ocean girl. Hence, our place in Florida… not right on the beach, but close enough I can see the water just walking a few blocks and less than 10 minutes from a nice beach. But, water definitely heals my soul.
I could get lost in the history of Venice for the rest of my life.
