I’m happy to say that I just survived another week, in a still very crazy world. Its time for Weekend Writing Warriors and on Snippet Sundays. Below are eight lines from Race to Redemption, Book 1 in my Green Rising Series. This teaser comes before after the snippets I’ve been sharing where Erik and Elaina are caring Sen. In this scene, Erik has to talk Elaina into flying him through a storm to get to Sen, who is getting sicker.
I won’t go with you. I’ll fly Brej.”
“Brej isn’t fully recovered.”
“Another doctor then.” Just not you.
“There isn’t anyone else. Qirta’s downing miskberries.”
“You’re letting her?”
He nodded and that light in his eyes brightened a notch.
“You trust me enough to do this?” Say yes.
“I have no other choice.” He pushed his hair off his face.
With a level 20, he didn’t. She was the only game in town.
“Sen won’t make it if we don’t.” He leaned into her, the heat of him a threat to her sanity.
“Your company’s better than running mining machinery. When do we leave?”
“Now. Racer’s outside.”
“So sure of yourself?”
“You can’t say no to Sen.”
Yeah, he had her, but then he always did.
