Its Wednesday and the day for the Long and Short Reviews Wednesday Weekly Blog Challenge. This week’s challenge is my favorite book and how I’d cast it. I don’t have a favorite book as much as a favorite book of the moment – a book that speaks to where I am now. It could inspire me, cry with me, or help me dream or cope. Over the past year, I’ve struggled to read books. Given all that, I don’t have a favorite book of the moment. So I thought I’d try a hand at casting my book, Race to Redemption. I loved writing it, and those characters still live inside me. Here goes.

  • Elaina Carteret also known as Lainie Carter. Kick-ass champion storm racer, corporate CEO and later rebel leader goes to Scarlett Johansson whose portrayal of Natasha Romanov/Black Widow in the Marvel Universe is my model of a kick ass heroine.
  • Erik Johansen. Expert doctor and scientific researcher, rebel leader with a very damaged past goes to Hugh Jackman, who does damaged past and tender love so well in his role as Wolverine. Honestly, I’d see Hugh Jackman in anything.

I’m eager to read the choices of the other Blog Hop participants. Join me as I visit their posts.

Race to Redemption, Green Rising Book 1 Blurb

Intergalactic storm racing champion, Elaina Carteret, left the circuit in disgrace after a horrendous accident. Willing to deal with the devil, aka her business manager, she accepts a challenge for one last chance to fly again. The deal seemed easy – pose as Lainie Carter, medical transport pilot, and spy on a hospital outpost. Until she meets the director, Dr. Erik Johansen, who runs the station with an iron hand, a permanent scowl and the tightest bod on the planet.

Erik keeps his emotions and laboratories locked up tight. He once trusted a woman who turned out to be a spy—and millions died. When the sizzling hot Lainie Carter sashay’s into his office with her endless legs, pouty mouth and penchant for sneaking into forbidden areas, he knows she’s dangerous. If only she would stop sneaking into his fantasies.

When the outpost is attacked by mercenaries, the Diva and Dr. Dictator are thrown together in a race across the desert to save two sick children. As a fragile trust grows between their damaged hearts, will it be strong enough to survive the truths that threaten their growing bond?
