I’ve invited you all here today to announce my theme for April 2017 A to Z Blog Challenge.
In my current WIP, The Scent of Memory, Book 2 of my science fiction romance series Green Rising, the hero is a cyborg, whose memories were wiped in order to turn him into the perfect soldier and assassin. The heroine, an expert coder and his former lover, is determined to find a way to return his memories to bring him back to her.
For background research, I dug into the mysteries of memory, which is a perfect theme for the A To Z Challenge. For the month of April, I’ll be on a journey through brain function, art and literature, and scientific research all related to memory. I will also periodically share snippets of my WIP and creative images. Pictures that evoke memory are usually creative, thought provoking and disconcerting.
I want to end with a quote by Eckhart Tolle, which foreshadows an underlying conflict between hero and heroine, and reveals an interesting truth about memory.
People don’t realize that now is all that ever is; there is no past or future except as memory or anticipation in your mind.
