Today is a short but fun post  the April 2018 A to Z Blog Challenge .

Xenoglossy is the ability to speak a language you’ve never learned at the level of native fluency.  How cool is that?

There is not a lot of scientific evidence that Xenoglossy exists.  Where we do find mention of this phenomenon is in the Bible, reincarnation research (tapping into a past life including past languages) and parapsychology.  Since we only understand such a small percentage of brain function, and who are, I maintain hope that small miracles happen and that the unexplained and unproven, may yet have their day in the future.  Life needs science and mystery, don’t you think?

  • This is really interesting to me. I’ve gone to a Pentecostal church for over 20 years. We have always called this, “speaking in tongues.” I’ve never heard the term xenoglossy. I really don’t have a strong feeling about the legitimacy of this. I’m totally open to it, though and won’t rule it out. Thank you for introducing me to a new aspect of this.

  • Really interesting topic. I don’t think it’s possible to speak a language you never learned fluently; however, I have heard about cases where people woke up after having a stroke or similar event and had a completely different accent, so maybe some of the stories are based on something like that.
