Hello, I’m Shari. By day, I crawl out of bed, mainline coffee, walk the dog, miss my kid who has gone off to college and save cities within the four walls of my office. Usually by email.

At night, the other Shari emerges.  With a glass of wine by side,  I curl up on the couch with my computer nestled in my lap and let my imagination play with words and images until stories take shape.  I also periodically text my  kid. Once I’ve reassured myself she’s not plotting world domination, I pull out my alter ego, who definitely is.  The other Shari also has a passion for:

  • wandering space and time on a surfboard with a talking, miniature python curled around her left arm;
  • flying over the Himalayas on feathered wings shaking a polka-dotted leather tail at the moon;
  • making six-toed footprints in indigo talc snow on the sixth planet in the Andromeda galaxy;
  • eavesdropping on Olympian gods while pretending to whip up a bowl of ambrosia;
  • hopping from dimension to dimension in jet-powered high heels, and a bottomless backpack; and
  • learning about wine.

In all these wondrous worlds,  romance and passion blossom. I can’t resist a happy ending.  I am prone to writing happy endings for those who have given up on ever getting one.

I am also an amateur wine enthusiast. in typical world building fashion, I decided to pair up my love of romance with my love of wine.  Join me as I wonder through both.

My books all take place in fantasy worlds. Underneath a mushroom, onimg_3603 another planet, inside a sand particle in a dust storm, or on a starship hurtling into the sun’s corona.

I also love animals.  Here are my goofy pets. They keep me sane, even while they drive me crazy.

My books and my blog are all driven by one underlying mission–explore and understand what it means to be human, and to live with other humans in a seemingly finite world.  You can’t explore that without wine.  Join me for a drink a and a story.

Finally, why does wild wine, tempting stories scroll across my site.  Because of Homer’s quote from The Odyssey. Although not an exact interpretation, I like to think that wine and stories make us bolder, brassier and frees our creativity and inner rebel.

 “It is the wine that leads me on, the wild wine that sets the wisest man to sing at the top of his lungs, laugh like a fool – it drives the man to dancing…it even tempts him to blurt out stories better never told.”
